The Ultimate Waterman will return in 2016 tougher than before with two new disciplines added to the contest, it was announced today.
“Prone Paddleboard” and an “Underwater Strength Run and Swim” will be introduced when the world’s best compete for the title in New Zealand from 12-20 March, 2016. This takes the number of disciplines to eight, alongside short and longboard; stand-up paddle and endurance; outrigger canoe and big wave paddle in surfing.
Athletes returning to compete so far are 2015 winner and LiP team rider Daniel Kereopa (NZL), Connor Baxter (HAW), Mark Visser (AUS), Kala Alexander (HAW),Danny Ching (USA), Manoa Drollet (PYF), and Georges Cronsteadt (PYF).
