RIGHT EYE (OD)
We can accommodate Sphere readings between -4.00 to +4.00. If your script is outside this range, please email us at [email protected] and attach a copy of your prescription. We will advise your options via email.
The CYL (cylinder) value denotes the strength of the astigmatism. Astigmatism means that the eye has difficulty focusing at certain angles. If you have a cylinder value, then you will also have an Axis value. If your prescription shows "DS", this means that you do not have an astigmatism, and you should leave the field blank.
The Axis is the angle of the astigmatism correction and specifies where the astigmatism is on your eye. The measurement is in Degrees. The values range between 0 and 180. If you have a "Cylinder" value, then you must also have an Axis value. Please add it here or leave blank if you have no Axis reading.
LEFT EYE (OS)
Prism / base are readings for a lazy muscle and are not present on most prescriptions. If there are measurements for prism & base on your prescription, select 'yes' and enter the details in the fields below. Otherwise, select no and continue.
The Pupillary Distance (PD) is the distance between the centre of your pupils. Your PD is important in the lens-making process because it tells us where to centre your prescription in the frame you chose.
We require your PD Distance reading before we can proceed with preparing the lenses. Your optometrist will hold this information on your file. Please contact them and send this information to us after you have placed your order.
Please note that besides adding your script manually, California residents are also required to send us a valid prescription (dated within the previous 2 years). The following file formats are accepted: .pdf, .png, .jpeg, .doc, .docx.
My prescription is dated within the last 2 years, and the details I have entered above match the prescription.
If your order includes progressive lenses, we will send you a sample Surge frame. You will need to attend your optometrist with the sample frame to obtain an accurate reading for your 'segment height'. At the same time, please request a 'Near PD' reading if this is not already recorded on your prescription. Please bear in mind that this process may delay the delivery of your order by up to 10 days.
