Polarized Prescription Fishing Glasses

When you’re out on the water, your eyes are one of your most valuable tools. Whether you’re fly fishing on a snaking river, deep-sea fishing, or casting lures in lakes or ponds, your ability to see clearly and reduce glare directly impacts your success. This is why polarized prescription fishing glasses are a must-have tool for fishermen.

Polarized lenses are designed to filter out intense glare that reflects off the water’s surface. This glare can be extremely uncomfortable, make it harder to spot fish, and ultimately interfere with your performance. With polarized prescription fishing sunglasses, you can cut through that glare and see beneath the surface of the water. You’ll have a clearer view of fish movements, underwater structures, and any potential obstacles, giving you an edge when it comes to accuracy and timing.

But vision clarity isn’t the only factor; eye protection is just as important. Spending hours exposed to the sun without adequate protection could lead to long-term eye damage. Prescription fishing sunglasses provide 100% UV protection, shielding your eyes from harmful UV radiation rays while enhancing visual clarity.

Fishing can be a highly visual sport that requires precision and focus. With an accurate prescription and a suitable choice in lens function, prescription lenses will enhance your natural eyesight, giving you the clarity and focus required to make every cast count. For fishermen who demand the best from their equipment, polarized prescription sunglasses for fishing are more than just a tool—they’re an essential part of the experience.

What to look for in a pair of Prescription Fishing Sunglasses

The lenses are at the core of any sunglasses. With so many options to consider, making a choice can seem overwhelming. A good starting point is to consider the base lens colour. Brown, amber or rose base colours offer enhanced contrast over grey lenses. Higher contrast lenses allow us to pick out details more easily in a complex field of view. Imagine float fishing alongside reeds and bushes lining a river bank in the late afternoon. The foliage will cast shadows over the water which may make it difficult to keep a close eye on the behaviour of your float. Lenses with enhanced contrast allow more depth and colour perception in these spaces. In general, brown or rose-tinted lenses are ideal for freshwater environments, whereas a grey base colour is optimum for salt-water environments.

After selecting a suitable base colour, the lens function comes next. Polarized, photochromatic, or polarized + photochromatic lenses all have their uses, depending on water colour, weather conditions, the time of day you are fishing and the species of fish you are angling for.

Lastly, lens finishes, whether in the form of a mirror coating, anti-fog coating or water-repellent hydrophobic layer add to the overall performance and suitability of the lenses to your fishing environment.

Look no further, these are the BEST surf sunglasses on earth. I’ve tried all the main brands and Lip Typhoon is by far the highest in quality and function. Living in Hawaii, I face the elements everyday and the glasses are my favorite in the ocean, I don’t travel without these shades, Just got back from surf trip in Central America and couldn’t have surfed without them. Aloha!

I have Lip sunglasses 3 years. Positives are sharp vision thanks to polarization and hard antiobrasion surface.
To prevent them from fogging I glued 2 foam 6mm thick distances on the sides, and one at the middle - under the nosepad.
3This way there is much wider distance between my face and lenses enablind easy wind accesss to remove the vapour.
This is especially needed on colder days, but during the summer it improves comfort of foilriding significantly, as I have to observe water surface to evaluate the hight of my ride.
As I wear a helmet, wide gap above glasses is protected from sunlight

Needs a better headstrap similar to older Oakley water jackets. Otherwise comfortable and good for the current price point. Would easily pay additional 50-100 if more sturdy face fit for surfing activities.

I love the fit and that they look cool. I used them in bigger surf and they stayed on my head even through powerful duck dives. The downside is that after two duck dives they became so cloudy that I couldn't see through them. Please send me suggestions on what to do. I'd love to wear them for the summer but they are unusable if you can't see through them.

The best: Super ventilation. The second best: Anti-water surface. However, if you one day could improve the surface further to anti-salt (water) and anti-sunscreen, the glasses would be brilliant. Third best: Cool and practical design.
